Music of the heart. To express, not impress.
Life of a musician. It’s 3 am and I’ve just finished editing some vocal takes for the tune. Spent 12 hours tracking, editing and mixing :/ Gotta wake up early tomorrow as I have some pending projects which need immediate attention - music and sound design revisions for an Ipad game I’m working on.
Weekend is just around the corner. Weekend = Play time. Well, play time for me means sitting at my work station doing the usual music stuff and occasional FIFA matches.
I really hope to get this lagu melayu done by the end of the week. It’s sounding good so far and I’ll be uploading a sneak peek of it anytime soon. Okay, better sign out before I doze off. Enjoy the link below and have a good day :)
Just taking a break from producing a tune I’ve written. I’m gonna have a hard time finding a malay-speaking singer for this track since I’m all the way here in Boston :/ Whatever, I’ll sing it first and eventually find someone capable when the time comes. And yes, for those who don’t already know - I’m a pianist.
Okay, so let’s talk a bit about this tune. It’s a pop song. By pop i don’t necessarily mean Anuar Zain or KRU, just something that’s radio friendly. Everything (writing, recording, mixing) is done at my humble home studio. I decided to use Logic instead of Pro Tools for this project and here’s a couple of snapshots.
Enough of that already, I should get back to work. There’s a bunch of other tunes which I started with my pal Adee a few months ago. Hope to continue working on those once this is done.

I’m Ali. This space is where I would like to share all my future musical projects. I am currently in the process of composing some popular malay tunes which I hope to post on a weekly basis starting a week from now. I have never in my music life, openly shared a malay written song. To be honest, I really look forward to it :) It’s who I am after all.
